Licensing & paperwork

South African vehicle admin is a specific kind of frustrating when you're not in the country. Carnets expire. Licences fall due. Customs queries arrive without warning. We handle it on your behalf — so your trip doesn't get derailed by paperwork.

What's included

  • South African vehicle licence renewal
  • Carnet de Passage monitoring and extension support
  • Liaison with customs and border authorities
  • Import and export documentation assistance
  • Cross-border paperwork coordination
  • Communication with shipping agents on your behalf

The Carnet de Passage is the document that keeps your foreign-registered vehicle legal in South Africa. It has an expiry date. If it lapses while your vehicle is in storage, you have a problem. We track it for you, flag it before it becomes urgent, and coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure your vehicle remains compliant.

South African vehicle licences also expire annually. For vehicles registered locally, we handle the renewal so you're not arriving to a vehicle with a lapsed disc. For foreign-registered vehicles, we advise on what's required and manage the process as far as we're able.

If a customs query or border authority issue arises during your vehicle's stay, we're your point of contact. We've dealt with most of the common scenarios and know who to call. You don't need to navigate South African bureaucracy from overseas.
